Jerry D. Schoolcraft, Sr., 61, Langsville, went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2009 at his residence following a battle with cancer. He was born October 13, 1947 in Richwood, West Virginia, son of the late Charles Schoolcraft and Lillian Durham. He was a former Gallia County Deputy of eight years where he worked as Sgt. Criminal Investigator. He also worked at the Gallia County Landfill.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Schoolcraft; three children, Paul (Tammy Clary) Yost, Danville; Patricia (Ivan) Brumfield Jr., Crown City; and Nina (Jim) Brumfield, Gallipolis; grandchildren, Jasmine and Michael Charles Yost; Talissa O'Shae and Miranda Nichole Brumfield; Aaron Don Schoolcraft; Cody James and Dylan Cole Brumfield; four brothers, Marvin (Elva) Schoolcraft, Danville; James (Diane) Schoolcraft, Langsville; Roger (Mary) Schoolcraft, Shade; and Timmy (Bridgett) Roberts, Webster Springs, West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Don Schoolcraft, Jr.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Rev. Tharon Durham officiating. Burial will be at the conveinence of the family.
