Joan W. (Snyder) Thacker

Joan W. Thacker, 86, Vinton, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born in Gallia County, September 18, 1935 to the late Bert and Pearl Shively Snyder. Joan was a member of Vinton American Legion 161 Women's Auxiliary, she attended Fairview CCCU, Vinton, Ohio and loved playing the piano and singing. Joan was always on the go volunteering. She will greatly be missed by her family, friends and community.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Diane (Curt) Arthur, Jackson, Ohio; granddaughter, Brittney (Paul) Simon, Vinton, Ohio; great-grandsons, Aiden and Greyson and special friend, Don Akers, Florida.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest "Bug" Thacker, Jr., who she married April 9, 1957 at Ewington, Ohio; grandson, Ryan Russell and sister, Dorcas White.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Fairview Church of Christ in Christian Union, Vinton, Ohio with Pastor Denver McCarty and Curt Arthur officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Cemetery, Vinton, Ohio. Family and friends may call on the family at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, Wednesday 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
