Joanne E. (Payne) Bass
February 21, 1929 — June 18, 2012
Joanne E. Payne Bass, 83, Bidwell, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at her residence Monday June 18, 2012. She was born February 21, 1929 in Bidwell, daughter of the late Forrest Payne and Edna Stevens Payne.
She is survived by four children: Carol Petty, Greg (Janice) James, Lori Lafferty (Dave Hill), and Raelene Bass Holland, all of Bidwell; five grand-children: Greg James, John (Sarah) James, Shelonda Petty, Raysean (Bridget) Allen and Jonathan Birchfield and ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sister, Helen Marie Boyd, Middleport, Ohio and two brothers: Bobby (Iris) Payne, Middleport and Mike (Patty) Payne, Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Marjorie Payne, Bidwell; several nieces and nephews and a special adoptive daughter, Sharon Howell, Bidwell.
In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by grandson, Anthony Petty, brother, Maurice Payne and fiancé, Rev. Everneather Scott.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, SR 554, Bidwell with Rev. Edward Buffington and Rev. Calvin Minnis officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Street Cemetery, Gallipolis, Ohio. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel Thursday at
6:00-8:00 PM.
