John William "Bill" Russell

John William "Bill" Russell, 84 of Gallipolis, Ohio went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 9, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born August 13, 1935 in Kanauga, Ohio, son of the late Roy and Irene Shiflet Russell.

Bill married Wanda Brown Russell of Gallipolis on February 22, 1954 in Liberty, Indiana and she survives.  In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Bret (Lori) Russell, Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia and a daughter Debra Lyn (Jerry) Gunnels, Dayton, Ohio.  Also surviving are six grandchildren: Joshua Sebert, Michael Gunnels, Curry (Jenn) Russell, Dustin (Mandy) Russell, Jocelyn (D.J.) Casto and Titus (Hallie) Russell and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brent Sebert and by two brothers and two sisters:  Jesse Russell, Wayne Russell, Betty Bulmer and Hilda Riffle.

Bill was a member of the Pt. Pleasant Moose Lodge and the Gallipolis Elks Lodge #107.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services at this time. Private graveside services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis is honored to serve the Russell family during this difficult time.
