John Ernest Holle, 71, Vinton, Ohio passed away in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, late Saturday night December 8, 2007 following a brief illness. He was born December 22, 1935 in Indianapolis, Indiana, son of the late Ernest Holle and Clara Sanner Holle Hughes. He received a B.S. Degree, Elementary Education, University of Rio Grande 1968 and retired from the Gallipolis City Schools in 1990 where he had taught sixth grade in Washington School for twenty-six years. He was a US Air Force Veteran and a member of the Simpson Chapel United Methodist Church, Rio Grande where he had actively served on several Church Boards. He was also a member of the Gallia County Retired Teachers.
John was joined in marriage to his beloved wife Wanda Keesee on June 11, 1960 in Fairborn, Ohio and she survives with a son, Eric (Lori) Holle, Travelers Rest, South Carolina and a daughter, Lori Siegert (Fiance Will Sheets), Vinton, Ohio. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Chelsi, Michael and Jacob Holle, Travelers, South Carolina and Sean Siegert, Vinton, Ohio; sister, Louise Hair, Greenwood, Indidana and several nieces and nephews.
John will be deeply missed by his family and friends and by those whose lives he has touched. He had great wit, kindness, love of nature, and enthusiasm for life.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Simpson Chapel United Methodist Church, 414 Lake Drive, Rio Grande with Rev. Sherron Courneen officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Vinton American Legion Post 161. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, Tuesday 5:00-8:00 PM.
