John "Johnny" Russell
June 3, 1949 — May 12, 2005
John "Johnny" Russell, 55, Vinton, passed away in Holzer Medical Center, Thursday, May 12, 2005. He was born June 3, 1949 in West Columbia, West Virginia, son of the late Eddie J. Russell and Mable E. Russell. In addition he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sally Ann Brater and Joan Culverest.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a former employee of PCM E-Systems Maintenance of Alvasta, Virginia.
He married Darlena Lively June 4, 1997 at Cattlettsburg, Kentucky and she survives with four children: Adam Russell, Jamie Russell, Eric Russell, Gallipolis, Ohio and Jeremiah Russell, Vinton, Ohio; granddaughter, Hallie Russell; two brothers and one sister: Jack E. Russell, Ravenna, Ohio, Bill Russell, Spokane, Washington and Mary Russell, Gallipolis.
A very special thanks to Janice and Don Mitchell, Vinton, and to brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sonny and Donna Adkins, Vinton, Ohio. Thank you for your prayers and for being there for us in our time of need and for being so supportive. We love you.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday in the Harvest Time Worship Center, Main Street, Vinton, with Rev. David Marcum officiating, assisted by Roy See. Burial will be in the Morgan Center Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Vinton American Legion Post 161. Friends may call at the Harvest Time Worship Center Monday 11:00-1:00 PM.
