Mike was born May 13, 1947 in Gallipolis, son of the late John Montgomery and Laura Jerusha (DeVault) Hager. He married Rita Elizabeth Eisfelder February 5, 1972 in Pinckneyville, Illinois, and she survives along with his son-in-law, Michael (Gwen) Campbell, Bidwell and seven grandchildren: Jon, Josh, Jacob, Abby, Lexi and Anna Campbell and Burnie Stanley.
Also surviving are brother, Pat Hager and sister, Barbara (Wayne) Wolfe, both of Bidwell, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

He was an exceptional grandfather and always attended his grandchildren's sporting events; he was a true River Valley Raiders fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family on the farm and was a proud member of the National Angus Association.
