Jonathon C. Lawhorn, 33, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. Born June 3, 1982 in Orlando, Florida, he was the son of Luke and Christine (Johnson) Lawhorn, Gallipolis, Ohio. Jonathon was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Afghanistan and Iraq, who received the following Medals: Afghanistan Campaign Medal, 2 Stars; Army Commendation Medal; Army Achievement Medal; Army Good Conduct Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Overseas Service Bar, Fourth Award; Iraqi Campaign Medal; Overseas Service Ribbon; NATO Medal; Combat Medical Badge and the Expert Field Medical Badge. He was also a member of VFW Post 4464, Gallipolis.
In addition to his parents, Jon is survived by his beloved daughter, Alyssa Lawhorn, Gallipolis; stepdaughter, MyKaila Cox, Gallipolis; brother, Jeremy Lawhorn, Gallipolis; paternal grandparents: John and Donita Lawhorn, Sinking Springs, Ohio and maternal grandparents: Don and Betty Daffron, Punta Gorda, Florida as well as several aunts, uncles and extended family members.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 PM Sunday, January 24, 2016 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with cremation to follow. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Sunday 1:00-3:00 PM.
