Joseph Allen Hager, 85, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. The son of the late Herbert and Norma (Barrow) Hager, he was born February 9, 1941, in Westerville, Ohio.
A mechanic by trade, Joe retired from Inland Products, Rio Grande, after more than thirty years’ service. He attended Rodney Pike Church of God, was a former Vinton Volunteer Firefighter, and enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Joe leaves behind his daughter, Lisa (Tim) Mount of Gallipolis and grandchildren, Philip (Samantha) Mount, Point Pleasant, West Virginia and Alan (Lindsey) Mount, also of Gallipolis; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Peyton, Roman, Brooklyn, Eli and Leon Mount.
Also surviving are brother, Norman Hager, Texas and sister, Emma Penrod, Chillicothe, Ohio, and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by brothers Herbert and David Hager and sisters, Rose Dillon and Mary Wycoff.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
