Joseph Justice, 94, of Bidwell, Ohio passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, in the Jenkins Community Care Center, Wellston, Ohio. Joe was born August 7, 1930, in Pikeville, Kentucky, son of the late George and Nora (Blackburn) Justice. A United States Army Veteran, he was a retired coal miner employed by Southern Ohio Coal Company. Joe was a long-standing member of the Old Regular Baptist Church who married Emogene Campbell Justice December 28, 1954, and she preceded him in death January 3, 2017.

To this union were born their children: Randy (Martha) Justice, Vinton, Ohio; Rex (Penny) Justice, Bidwell, Ohio and Lucretia (Bruce) Lucas, Gallipolis, Ohio; grandchildren: Joe (Crystal) Justice, Bidwell; Casee (Brent) Harris, Indianapolis, Indiana; Brandie (Dustin) Zirkle, New Haven, West Virginia; Blake (Rosanna) Marcum, Jackson, Ohio; Jennifer (Wesley) Taylor, Huntington, West Virginia; Michael (Elain Dunn) Swain and Camie (Eric) Biars, Point Pleasant, West Virginia.

Also surviving are step-grandchildren: Amanda (Lance) Neville, Gallipolis and Nicole (Aaron) Bickle, Albany, Ohio; thirteen great-grandchildren: Jerah, Jace, Jadah, Jansen, Harper, Raylee, Paxton, Colt, Cooper, Makenna, Dylan, Mason and Mila; and six step-great-grandchildren: Ayden, Kolben, Cannon, Lucas, Raegan and Rowan and a great-great grandchild.

In addition to his parents and wife, Joe was preceded by brothers Grover, Everett, Alvis, Ray, Perry, Clarence, John and Tildon Justice and sisters Osie Bolden, Lora Thacker and Jean Coleman.

He loved his family and was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed sharing stories and was always up for a good laugh and a great apple pie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 24, 2024, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Brothers Kenny Newsome and Buster Hall co-officiates. Full Military Graveside Rites will follow by the Vinton American Legion Post #27 in the Vinton Memorial Park Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday 11:00 AM to the 1:00 PM service time.
