Joyce (Miller) Blanton

Joyce Blanton, 86, Vinton, Ohio, passed away at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia Sunday, June 20, 2021. She was born May 8, 1935 in Jackson County, Ohio, daughter of the late John and Elsie McGown Miller.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Erskine E. Blanton Sr. on January 25, 2013 and by six children: Erskine Eugene Blanton Jr., Ricky Blanton, Vicky Jenkins, Pamela and Cathy Blanton, and Sheila Yester. Also preceding her in death are two grandsons, Josh Yester and McAvery, great grandson, Dakota Yester and sisters Louise Freasure and Ruth Morrison and an infant brother.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters:  Jesse Blanton, Lowell, Florida; Karry Blanton Columbus, Ohio; Cindy (Carl) Webb, Thurman, Ohio; Sherry (Jeff) Wetherholt, Vinton, Ohio and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are sister Phyllis Wright, Grove City, Ohio; daughter-in-law Carren Blanton, Akron, Ohio; son-in-law, Alvin Yester, Vinton, Ohio and her fur baby, Angel.

Joyce was a member the Deercreek Freewill Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Mickey Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery, Vinton. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 11:00 A.M. until time of service.
