"J.R." Dingus Martin

"J.R." Dingus Martin, Jr., 59, of Vinton, Ohio passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, in Select Specialty Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Born in Floyd County, Kentucky, he was the son of Martha Newsome (Claude) Hale and the late Dingus Martin, Sr.

J.R. married Marie Knapp Martin, Vinton, Ohio March 25, 1998, at Catlettsburg, Kentucky, who survives. He is also survived by daughters Nicole Martin and Andrea Martin, both of Vinton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and brothers Darryl (Debbie) Martin and Steve (Christina) Martin, all of Vinton, Ohio.

In addition to his father, he was preceded by son, Joshua Ryan Martin.

The family would like to thank the staff and employees of High Ops of Select Specialty Hospital, Victorian Village, for their care for J.R. during his time there.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, September 26, 2025 at Heritage Baptist Church, 4045 Georges Creek Road, Gallipolis, Ohio at 2:00-4:00 PM. In accordance with his wishes, Cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Homes.
