Kimberly Jo Merritt

Kimberly Jo Merritt, 68, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Monday, October 5, 2026, in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Kim was born April 1, 1958, in Wilmington, North Carolina, daughter of the late James Merritt and Myrle (Knowles) Carr.

Kim could be found in the kitchen doing one of the things she loved, cooking, while listening to her favorite old R&B music. She would spend time on social media catching up with all the people and looking through the days content, yet her favorite and most precious thing to do was spending time with her grandson.

Kim will be deeply missed by her son, Jacob Merritt of Gallipolis and grandson, Liam Merritt as well as her special sons, William (Annie) Hovatter, Ricky Betts and Cody Russ, all of Wilmington, North Carolina; her sister and brother, Belinda Kaye Merritt and Jim (Denise) Merritt, both of Wilmington as well as nieces and nephews, Makayla Merritt, Jackie Merritt, Anthony (Mary Beth) Merritt and Michael Carr.

In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held. Cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, who is honored to serve the Merritt Family.
