Larry "Mike" Michael Coon

Larry Michael Coon, 44, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 in Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room, Gallipolis, Ohio. Born December 14, 1977, he was the son of the late Charles Larry Coon.

Mike loved his family and his country – so much so that he served in the United States Marine Corp for twenty-four years. While serving, he was in the Iraq-Afghanistan War, serving as a 1st Sergeant, during which he was the recipient of a Purple Heart Medal and the Medal of Valor. A decorated Marine, he was very proud of his service.

Mike leaves behind to cherish his memory three daughters: Sydney Coon, Gallipolis, Ohio; Tanya Coon and Heidi Coon, Middleport, Ohio; Life Companion, Julie Simmons, Bidwell, Ohio; stepsons, Dustin Reynolds, Thomas Sargent and Nicholas Sargent, all of Bidwell and eight grandchildren: Rosalee, Bentlee, Gunner, Remy, Bella, Hazel, Riley and Jazmine as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Private services were held for Mike in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, at the request and convenience of the family.
