Larry D. Vance

Larry D. Vance, 57, Thurman, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born June 2, 1956 in Freeborn, Kentucky, son of the late Homer and Viola Sturgeon Vance. He was employed by McGinnis Construction Company and was a member of the Winchester Community Church, near Jackson, Ohio. Larry had a tremendous love for Christ and of music, especially Bluegrass Music.
Larry is survived by three daughters: Amanda (Paul) Vance Robinson, Vinton, Ohio; Patricia (Christopher) Vance O'Connor, Wayne, Michigan and Karenda "Squirt" Vance, Gallipolis, Ohio. In addition he is survived by four grandchildren: Austin and Daniel Paugh, DaSean and Nathan Vance; fiance Linda Adams, Thurman, Ohio her daughter and grandson, Heather and Harrison Rockwell, Columbus, Ohio; sisters: Shirley Ann (Lonnie) Jordan, Thurman, Ohio and Nina Faye (Kenneth) McCarty, Ewington, Ohio; brother, Vernal Eugene Vance, Thurman, Ohio. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, a special friend David McGinnis, Patriot, Ohio, his Winchester Community Church Family, and numerous Bluegrass friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Ann Vance.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Winchester Community Church, 282 Winchester Cemetery Road Jackson, Ohio with Pastor Rondall Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park, Vinton, Ohio. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, 208 Main Street, Vinton, Ohio Friday 5:00-8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday.
