Laura May (Brown) Steele

Laura May Brown Steele, 93, New Port Richey, Florida passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at her residence. Born October 25, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Rev. R. D. and Sylvia E. Jones Brown.
Laura is survived by her daughter, Regina VanTine, New Port Richey, Florida; grandchildren: Michelle (Bill) Walsh, Kelly (Terry) Milam, Mikie (Paula) Cook, Matthew VanTine, Scott Steele, Mark (Chris) Steele, Danny (Cindy) Steele, Kim Leach, Jackie Leach and Vicki Collins; great-grandchildren: Amber (Chris) Blackwell, John Pittman, Ross Pittman, Lorrie Pittman, Michael Avery, Jonathon Avery, Dakota Steele, Kylee Steele, Ethan Dobbs, Bradley Steele, Sara Steele, Kevin Thompson and Cody Thompson and great-great-grandsons: Nathanul Pittman and Jackson Blackwell. Also surviving are brothers: Paul Brown, Jackson, Ohio; David (Oeida) Brown, Onsted Michigan and Cleon (Ilene) Brown, Swartz Creek, Michigan; sister by choice, Mickie Schoonover; son-in-law, Paul Leach and daughter-in-law, Patricia Krieger and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members
In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Steele; love of her life, Thomas DeWeese; son, James Steele; brothers, Herbert A. Brown and Wendell Brown; sister, Arlene Choate; step-daughters, Joyce Leach and Betty Steele.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2016 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Thursday 6:00-8:00 PM.
