Lavetta Ann (Polly) Harless

Lavetta Ann Harless, 58, of Gallipolis, Ohio went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 24, 2024, surrounded by the love of her children as she left her earthly body behind for the glorious perfection of Heaven. Born June 21, 1965, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Lavetta was the daughter of the late Urias and Dorothy (Mullins) Polly.

Lavetta was blessed to reconnect with and marry her true love, Timothy Harless, and spent the last 15 years of her life with him. They enjoyed quiet days at home, and also found joy in attending concerts together. She loved her family and friends fiercely and thought the sun rose and set with her children and grandchildren. There was no love like Lavetta had for her grand babies and she could often be heard singing their praises.

She was always the first in line to offer a hand or listening ear to anyone in need. She enjoyed sewing and cooking for the people she cared for and often created one-of-a-kind masterpieces in both the kitchen and her sewing room.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her loving husband: Timothy Harless; her children: Laura (CJ) Johnson, Lindy Dennison and Isaiah (Whitney) Polly; grandchildren: Cole (Taylor) Johnson, Hannah (Landen) Dodrill, JJ Horn, Kalynn Dennison, Claire Johnson, Stella Polly, Hadley Johnson and Alexander Polly; siblings: Gillie (Rhonda) Polly, Colette Polly, Urias Polly, Jr. and Maylene Barbuto; sister-in-law: Patsy Mullins and several friends that are like sisters as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by siblings: Gene Mullins, Milton Polly and Glenn Polly and nephew, Vinnie Secen.

Memorial services will be conducted Friday, June 21, 2024, Lavetta's birthday, at 11:00 AM in the Vinton Town Hall, Vinton, Ohio. A Gathering of Friends will be held from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at the town hall. A Celebration of Life will be held at Lavetta's home following the services from 1:00-3:00 PM. Everyone is invited to wear Lavetta's favorite color, purple. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis is honored to serve the Harless Family.
