Lawrence Harrison, 84, Gallipolis passed away Monday, March 20, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg, West Virginia. Born May 14, 1921, he was the son of the late Robert Elee and Belva Dale Lemley Harrison. An Associate Member of V.F.W. Post #4464 and the D.A.V, Gallipolis, Lawrence retired after 30 years of service as an L.P.N. at Athens State Hospital. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Gallipolis.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia G. Harrison, whom he married July, 1942; daughter, Kathy L. (Michael) Brown, Williamstown, West Virginia; two grandsons: Ryan N. Brown and Michael Corey (Fiancée, Michele Geissler) Brown; great-grandson, Konnor G. Brown; two brothers: James R. (Beatrice) Harrison, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Robert D. Harrison, Gallipolis; two sisters: Iris Cox, Gallipolis and Peggy Gillespie, Columbus, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Corrine Harrison, brothers Paul L. "Chubby" Harrison and Marion R. "Jack" Harrison, sister Irene "Doodle" Theviner and half brother and half sisters, Carl Harrison, Freda Harrison and Louise Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, March 23, 2006 at McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis with Rev. Eugene Harmon and Rev. Rob Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Pine St. Cemetery, Gallipolis. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 PM.
