Lawrence E. Kennedy
August 18, 1927 — February 8, 2005
Lawrence E. Kennedy, 77, South Point, Ohio passed away unexpectedly in South Point Tuesday, February 8, 2005. He was born August 18, 1927 at Vinton, Ohio, son of the late Mason and Ruth Dyke Kennedy. A graduate of Vinton High School and a WW II Navy Veteran, he retired from Pantasote Inc., Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia in 1992. He was a member of the South Point First Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 51, Greentown, Ohio.
Lawrence married Eva Knight on November 5, 1949 in Greenup, Kentucky and she survives with four children and six grandchildren: Michael (Margaret) Kennedy, Noah and Brooke, Huntington, West Virginia; Larry K. and Theressa Kennedy, Erinne and Danielle, Columbus, Ohio; Gary and Regina Kennedy, Columbus, Ohio; Beth and David Pinedo, Austin and Tyler, Castorville, Texas and sister, Viola Butts, Vinton, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Kennedy and a twin brother, Clarence Kennedy.
Funeral services with be held 1:00 PM Friday, February 11, 2005 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, 208 Main St, Vinton, Ohio with Rev. Al Hartson officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park with Military Graveside Rites by the Vinton American Legion Post 161. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM.
