Lena Pearl Perdue, formerly of Vinton, Ohio, passed away in Holzer Assisted Living, Gallipolis on Wednesday morning, August 13, 2008. She was born March 16, 1904 in Cottageville, West Virginia, daughter of the late Bertha Bennett King and Oren L. King. This spring, Lena celebrated her one-hundred fourth birthday with her family and friends

She married Winfield Riley Perdue May 28, 1925 in Columbus, Ohio and he preceded her in death on June 26, 1979. In addition, she was preceded in death by a seven month old baby brother, Ralph Lewis King.

Surviving are nephews and nieces: Ralph and Sally Bennett, Gallipolis, Ohio, Rick Perdue and Layton Perdue, both of Columbus, Ohio; DeDe Luckey, Wilmington, North Carolina; Billie Leach, Rolling Hills, California; and Arlene Bennett, Cape Coral, Florida. Lena was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Porter, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Rev. Jack Berry officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, 5:00-7:00 PM.
