Leona M. (Roush) Ralph

Leona M. Ralph, 93, Gallia County, passed away Monday October 31, 2005 at Jenkins Memorial Health Facility, Wellston, Ohio. Born March 13, 1912 in Cheshire, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Orestes and Lottie Ann Vance Roush. Retiring after 27 years of service, Leona was an attendant and night shift supervisor at Gallipolis Developmental Center. She was also employed as a nurse's aide for ten years at the former Holzer Hospital, Gallipolis.
She is survived by sons: Harold E. Whitt, Gallipolis and John L. Whitt, Enosburg Falls, Vermont; daughter, Kay I. Hockman, Logan, Ohio; stepson: Kenneth (Sharon) Ralph Jr., Pickerington, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Naomi Whitt, Crown City, Ohio; stepdaughters: Joyce (Clifford) Bryant, Tyler, Texas, Betty (Ray) Rupe, Winter Park, Florida and Vivian (Lawrence) Curfman, Ray, Ohio; stepdaughter-in-Law, Marjorie Ralph, New Cumberland, West Virginia; sister, Florence Ragan, Gallipolis and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Kenneth B. Ralph, April 13, 2004 and Wilbur Hollis Whitt, May 21, 1972; sons, Charles L., Jerry L. and Gary V. Whitt; stepson, Marvin Ralph; five brothers: Freddie, Lester, Lloyd, James and Alva Roush and two sisters, Irene Grapes and Goldie Cremeans.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 3, 2005 in the Old Kyger Freewill Baptist Church, Cheshire with Rev. Bob Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire, Ohio. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis, Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 PM.
