Leroy Mccoy

Leroy McCoy, 77, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born January 29, 1937 in Betsy Lane, Kentucky, son of the late Robert Thurman and Sylvia (Burchett) McCoy. He worked on oil rigs and the Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Katie (Swain-Hoffman) McCoy and daughter, Tonia (Thomas) Burnett, Gallipolis, Ohio; sons: Lonnie (Shirley) McCoy, Gallipolis; Ronnie McCoy, Memphis, Tennessee; Jonnie (Susan) McCoy, Mt. Sterling, Ohio and Donnie (Amy) McCoy, Laconia, New Hampshire; stepsons: Gregory (Leslie) Hoffman and Darren Hoffman, both of Columbus, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; sister: Donna (James) Kunath, VanLear, Kentucky as well as four nieces, several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, February 21, 2014 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Rev. Calvin Minnis officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Mercerville, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Friday 11:00 AM-1:00 PM.
