Lestie (Waller) Wilfong

It is with extreme sadness and joy that the Wilfong family announces the passing of Lestie (Waller) Wilfong.  Lestie went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of January 13, 2024. Lestie had been living in the Jenkins Care Community in Wellston, Ohio. She had been sick for a while. Now she has eternal healing in the presence of the Lord. She was a long-standing member of the Deer Creek Baptist Church, Vinton, Ohio.

Lestie was born August 16, 1934 in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Willie and Minnie Waller. She married Ralph Swayne Wilfong who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Fay Whitt; her sons, Jerry Alan (Joyce) Wilfong and Mark Anthony (Karen) Wilfong; grandchildren are: Chris (Kelly) Whitt, Katie Wilfong, Cari (Mac) Wilfong-Houser, Tony (Anna) Holcomb, Amber (Mike) Wilfong-Knight and Kayla Holcomb; as well as six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Lestie will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lestie was preceded in death by son, Russell Wayne Wilfong; her daughter, Barbara Jean Burgess; her grandson, Joshua Andrew Wilfong; Baby Wilfong and sons-in law, Dave Whitt and Les Burgess; two brothers, Cecil and Raymond Waller; her sisters, Nelle Granny Waller, Dollarhide Baltimore, Matilda Ann Mollete, Buna "Bonnie" Walter Crum, Beulah Dutton and Eula Fay Waller.

Funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel. Family and friends may call on the family beginning at 10:00 AM till the time of service. Burial will follow at the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens, Gallipolis, Ohio.
