Lillian (Belcher) Maynard

Lillian Maynard, 93, of Bidwell, Ohio went home to be with the Lord Thursday, May 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at her residence. Born February 3, 1931, at Verdunville, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Troy and Christine (Mullins) Belcher.

Lillian married the late Richard Henderson Maynard February 8, 1947, in Verdunville, West Virginia, and together they owned/operated Maynard's Grocery in Dingess, West Virginia for twelve years before moving to Ohio. Lillian and her husband then operated Maynard's Craft and Quilt business for twenty years in Gallipolis, Ohio and she also worked at Robbins-Myers Manufacturing in Gallipolis.  All the while raising a loving family that will miss her dearly.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children: Linda (Larry) Sturgill, Stout, Ohio; Chris Cook, Martinsburg, West Virginia; Mary (Ralph) Young, Gallipolis, Ohio; Nanci LeMaster, Port Charlotte, Florida; Danny (Bernie) Maynard, Venice, Florida; Gregory (Mary Belle) Maynard, Gallipolis, Ohio and Patty (Bryan) Jones, Rio Grande, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren and spouses; four step-grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren;  special friend, Colene Rece, as well as several nieces, nephews and many Mullins cousins in Verdunville, West Virginia.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded by daughter, Connie Sue Maynard Rees and husband, Dwane Rees; grandson, Justin Cook and son-in-law, Russ Cook; son-in-law, James LeMaster; sisters, Freda Vance and Violet Butcher; mother-in-law, Edith Maynard Eggers and her husband, Kelly.

The family would like to express their sincere Thanks to Heartland Hospice of Jackson, Ohio, for their kindness and wonderful care of their Mother.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Jack Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Tyn Rhos Cemetery, Rio Grande, Ohio. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday at 1:00 PM to the service time.
