Lillian Beatrice (Powers) Welch

Lillian Beatrice Powers Welch, 80, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away at her residence Wednesday, May 14, 2003. She was born May 3, 1923, in Winfield, West Virginia, daughter of the late Landon and Ruby Powers. She was a retired Nursing Assistant and a member of the Poplar Ridge Baptist Church.
Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her husband, Emmer Thorton Welch February 20, 1989. In addition, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Eleanor Lyons; one brother and one sister.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Eric and Mitzi Welch, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother: Wanda Johnson, Hurricane, West Virginia; Helen Eggleton, Winfield, West Virginia; and John Powers, Congers, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Rev. John Elswick officiating. Interment will be in the Vinton Memorial Park.
