Loretta L. Piontek, 52, of Fowlerville, Michigan, a cherished wife & mother passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital Livonia. Loretta leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and unwavering commitment to those she held dear.
Born in Livonia, Michigan on December 11, 1970, the daughter of David and Barbara (Lundy) Bassett, Loretta was the beloved wife of Timothy Piontek for 29 ½ beautiful years. Loretta married Timothy on May 14, 1994.
Loretta had a passion for fast cars and drag racing. She loved nature, being in the country and spending time with her family and friends in her PJ's. Her last few years she had the opportunity to check off her bucket list several places and things she planned on doing.
The Holiday's held a special place in Loretta's heart. Her joy during the holiday season was spreading cheer and warmth to everyone around her and creating happiness for her family and friends.
Professionally, Loretta was known for her dedication to her job. She always had a smile on her face no matter how the day was going, earning trust and respect with patients while doing her job at St. Mary's Hospital.
Surviving is her husband, Timothy; children, Joshua (Kaily), Brendan and Noah; parents, David and Barbara Bassett; siblings, Amy Hoggarth, Danielle (David) Head, and David Bassett; sisters and brothers–in law, Michael (Claudia) Piontek, Sylvia (Tim) Muehlen, Marcia (Tony) O'Keefe, Nancy (Gary) Chester, Daniel Piontek, and Cindy (Mike) Corey and numerous nieces and nephews.
Loretta was preceded in death by her Great-Grandmother's Callie (Texas) Lundy and Goldie Pendleton, Grandmother's Loretta (MawMaw) Lundy and Gladys Bassett, Great-Grandfather Thomas Pendleton (PawPaw on the Farm), Grandfather Chester (Papoo) Lundy, Uncles Bill Necker, Gary Lundy, Charlie Bassett, Aunts Ninny & Debbie along with her cousins.
Loretta's family will receive guests on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 4:00-8:00 PM and Wednesday, December 6, 4:00-8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service.
Visitation for Loretta will continue on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 3:00-8:00 PM in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, 208 N. Main Street, Vinton, Ohio. Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the funeral home with burial following at the Pendleton Marcum Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of floral memorials, Memorial tributes are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the Fowlerville Area Fire Association.
