Lovel Faye Clay

Lovel Faye Clay, 75, of Thurman, Ohio, passed away suddenly Friday, March 20, 2026, in Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room, Gallipolis, Ohio.

Lovel was born August 17, 1950, in Wyandotte, Michigan, daughter of the late Okie and Rubel (Hamilton) Kent. A retired postal carrier for United States Postal Service, she was a member of Little Flock Old Regular Baptist Church, Jackson, Ohio.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Ben Clay, Thurman and children: Tracy (Angie) Seymour, Jackson, Ohio; Anthony (Kim) Kent, Hampstead, North Carolina; Natasha (Mark) Quinn, Albany, Ohio; Crystal (Mark) Clay, The Plains, Ohio; Jessica Clay, Reedsville, Ohio and Samantha (Clay) Shiller, The Plains, Ohio.

Also missing Lovel are eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Brenda (Mike) Fortner, Oak Hill, Ohio and several other extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a grandson, Ian James Seymour and sisters and brother, Shirley Stiffler, Myra Shepherd Polinsky, Gloria Raby and Robert Anthony Kent.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Elder Mike Fortner officiate. Burial will follow in Marcum Cemetery, Vinton, Ohio. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, March 24, 5:00-7:00 PM.
