Mabel Ruth (Pauley) White

Mabel Ruth Pauley "Granny" White, 88, Thurman, Ohio, (formerly of the Porter Community) went to be with the Lord on Saturday evening, April 24, 2010 in the Scenic Hills Nursing and Rehab Center, Bidwell, Ohio surrounded by her family. She was a retired accountant at Midway Chevrolet, Whitesville, West Virginia and she was a member of the French City Baptist Church, Bidwell. "Granny", as she was known, was born on November 13, 1921 in Pride, West Virginia, daughter of the late Basil and Ada Marie Mann Christian. She married Raymond Earl White on September 21, 1957 and he preceded her death on November 26, 1973.

She is survived by three daughters: Lula Marie "Tiny" (Tom) Holstein, Thurman, Ohio; Dreama Kay (Buzz) Edwards, Springfield, Ohio; Linda Sue Stone, Cleveland, Ohio; two sons: Bob White, Colorado and Richard "Dick" White, Iowa; six grandsons: Todd C. Holstein, Thurman, Ohio; Ernest "Buzz" Edwards III, Springfield, Ohio; David M. Stone and Brian C. Stone, both of Cleveland, Ohio; Steve M. Edwards, Glade Hill, Virginia; John P. Holstein, Crown City, Ohio; several great-grandchildren and two sisters: Margaret Pettigrew, Utica, Ohio and Mona Sue Skinner, Irving, Texas; and a special family friend, Dr. Fahmy.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded by brothers Hershel, Elwood, and Mayberry and by sisters Evelyn, Velma, Janice and Coretta.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 28, 2010 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis, Ohio with Rev. John Wood officiating. Burial will follow on Thursday, 1:00 PM, at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, West Virginia. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, 1:00-2:00 PM.
