Margaret B. Petty, 86, currently of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away early Sunday morning, May 2, 2010. She was born on September 4, 1923 in Hartselle, Alabama, daughter of the late Weaver and Pearl Adams Brindley. She was a long time member of Lebanon Baptist Church.
She and her husband, William (Bill) had lived many places in the United States, including Kentucky, Alaska, Hawaii and California, while working for the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board. She relocated to Gallipolis, Ohio in July of 2009 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Mary (Tony) Floyd after her husband of 66 years passed away.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by two sons, William (Susan) Petty, Felton, Pennsylvania and Peter (Carolyn) Petty, Falkville, Alabama; four grandchildren, one great grandson, a brother: Thad Brindley, Athens, Alabama; three sisters, Betty Miller, Hartselle, Alabama; Joan Hudgins, Arab, Alabama; and Fay Taylor, Falkville, Alabama; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great niece and nephew.
In addition her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Petty on May 17, 2009; youngest son, Timothy Petty, April 19, 1979 and three brothers-in-law: Freeman Miller, R.C. Hudgins, and Kenneth Taylor.
She will be sadly missed by her family and a multitude of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Lebanon Baptist Church in Falkville, Alabama, with Dr. Randy Ashley and Brother Ray Lee, co-officiating. Interment will follow at Lebanon Cemetery. Friends may call at Peck Funeral Home, Hartselle, Alabama on Thursday, May 6 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
