Marjorie "Marge" Ellen (Reynolds) Gehring

Marjorie "Marge" Ellen Reynolds Gehring, age 82, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 3, 2023. She lived in Enon, Ohio for 53 years. Marge was born February 20, 1941 in Orrville, Ohio, to the late James V. and Marietta Ellen Atkinson Reynolds.

She grew up in Vinton, Ohio, and played the church organ for the Vinton Methodist Church in high school. Marge graduated from North Gallia High School in 1959 and received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Rio Grande College. She went on to earn her Master's degree in Elementary Education from Wright State University. Marge taught the first Learning Disability class in Fairborn, Ohio, and became the first Supervisor of Special Education Program in Fairborn. She was invited to be inducted into the Fairborn City Schools Hall of Honor in April 2024. Marge was very active with the Greene County Special Olympics for 25 years, as well as numerous education programs. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and had been an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairborn, prior to falling ill. She was a Deacon, Sunday school teacher, and served on the Christian Education Committee.

Marge is survived by Lloyd, her husband of 56 years; daughters, Kimberly Gehring and Cheryl Gehring Keyton; grandchildren, Brittany (Davon) Burton, Tyler (Chrissy), Austin and Olivia Keyton; great grandchildren, Jeramiha, Jayden and Mason Burton, Jace Rike, Tyson, Calionna and Jonah Keyton; sister, Mary (Bob) Roberts; sister-in-law, Yvonne Gehring; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Jack and Linda Beaver.

In addition to her parents, Marge was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Reynolds.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, December 6, 2023 in Vinton Memorial Cemetery, St. Rt. 160, Vinton, Ohio. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 1130 Highview Drive, Fairborn, Ohio.
