Martha J. (Cook) Schaeffing

Martha J. Schaeffing, 97, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 18, 2019.  She was born September 15, 1922 at Springfield, Ohio daughter of the late Ervin Ezekial Cook and Minnie Saunders Cook.   She was member of the St. Peters Episcopal Church, Gallipolis and a member of the Emblem Club #199, Gallipolis.  She had served as a volunteer at Holzer Medical Center for more than thirty years.

Martha is survived by her son Robert (Linda) Schaeffing, Wilmington, Ohio and five grandchildren:  Kim (Mark) Thomas, Gallipolis, Ohio, Rob (Jode) Polcyn, Proctorville, Ohio, Josh (Sarah) Polcyn, Vinton, Ohio, Kristy Chaffin, Columbus, Ohio, and Seth Schaeffing, Wilmington, Ohio.  Also surviving are great-grandchildren:  Megan Thomas, Andrea (Austin) Whobrey, Hannah Thomas, Ryan Thomas, Marikate Polcyn, Jacob Polcyn, Gabe Polcyn and Lilee Polcyn.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Schaeffing, one brother, three sisters, daughter Deborah Schaeffing-Polcyn and great granddaughter Alyssa Thomas.

In accordance with Martha's wishes there will be no services.  Cremation services are under the direction of the Mccoy-Moore Funeral Home Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis
