Martha Ward (Mollohan) Rife
April 2, 1920 — February 10, 2009
Martha Ward Rife, 88, Bidwell, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009 in the Four Winds Nursing Facility at Jackson. She was born April 2, 1920 in Braxton County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Martin and Arizona Carpenter Mollohan.
She married Kenneth Ward on December 7, 1940 in Ashland, Kentucky and he preceded her in death in 1994. Also preceding are brother, Woodrow Mollohan, and sisters, Macel Adkins, Alsie Russell, Ethel Rife and Becca Carter.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kendra and Bob Bence, Bidwell; two brothers and three sisters: Dewey Mollohan, Kalamazoo, Michigan; Darrell Mollohan, Ivydale, West Virgina; Clovie "Pet" Brown, Wilkesville Community; Reva Brown, Vinton and Opal Hardesty, Richmondale.
Martha attended the Morgan Center Christian Holiness Church, and was a member of Vinton OES Chapter No. 375 and Huntington Grange No. 721.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at the Pine Grove Cemetery near Vinton. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home in Vinton Monday, February 16, 2009 from 5:00-7:00 PM.
