Mary Ruth (Cain) Barnett

Mary Ruth Barnett, 97, Langsville, Ohio passed away Friday, September 9, 2022, in Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room, Pomeroy, Ohio. Mary was born August 31,1925 in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Dyke) Cain. She married Donald W. Barnett, Sr., June 25, 1942, in Gallia County, Ohio and he precedes in death March 5, 2016. Mary was a member of River of Life Church, Rutland, Ohio.

Those surviving include her children: Martha Elliott, Amhurst, Ohio; Sandra (Gary) Northup, Vinton, Ohio; Donna (Joe) Woolwine, Vinton, Virginia; Naomi (Leonard) Williams, North Olmstead, Ohio; Claudia (Albert) Pelkey, New Castle, Pennsylvania and Donald (Vickie) Barnett, Jr., Langsville, Ohio; thirty-eight grandchildren, fifty-six great-grandchildren and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Katherine Ledsome, Uniontown, Ohio and sister-in-law, Ruth Cain, Media, Ohio.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Hazlett; granddaughters, Becky Kane, Kara Marie Pelkey and Lavonne Jane Elliott; brothers, Jack Cain, Lee Cain and Jimmy Cain; sister, Alma Cain and sons-in-law, Billy Elliott and Paul Duke.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 PM Thursday, September 15, 2022 in the River of Life Church, 37032 SR 124, Rutland, Ohio with Pastor Sam Buckley officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park, Vinton, Ohio. Family and friends may call at the church Thursday 10:00 AM to the Noon service time.
