Mary Louise (Garnes) Hurt

Mary Louise Garnes Hurt, 68, Kerr, Ohio passed away at her home Sunday, November 1, 2009 after a lengthy illness. She was born December 14, 1940 in Gallia County, daughter of the late Carl Garnes and the late Eleanor Felton. Mary married William "Sam" Hurt October 28, 1959 and he precedes her in death in addition to an infant son, Gregory and a sister Dorothy Evans.
Surviving is her best friend and companion, Carl "Sonny" Morrison; four children: Karen Lynn (Walter) Hurt, Marlene Roshelle Hurt, Richard Allen Hurt Sr., and Dorothy Yvonne Hurt; seven grandchildren: Mary F. Evans, Richard Anthony Hurt, Dorothy L. Payne, Synthia L. Hurt, Terrell Hurt, Richard Hurt Jr., and Samuel K. Payne; eleven great-grandchildren: Javin Evans, Malik Hurt, Aaliyah Hurt, Riley Evans, Antonio and Anton Terry, Kaleigh Massie, Braden Dalton, Quinton Massie, Zalah Scarberry, and Ciara Hurt as well as many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends and extended family.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, November 5, 2009 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Reverend Calvin Minnis officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery, Harrisburg, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, November 4th 6:00-8:00 PM.
