Mary Jo (Messer) Cole
February 12, 1930 — May 30, 2008
Mary Jo Cole, 78, Vinton, Ohio went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born February 12, 1930 in Kermit, West Virginia, daughter of the late Escum Messer and Lizzie Marcum Messer.
She is survived by six children: Barbara (Darrin) Buck, Vinton; Sharon Muncy (Edgar Johnson), Vinton; Sue (Jerry) Worrell, Bethleham, Georgia; Kelly Spaulding, Vinton; Jessie Spencer, Vinton; Dessie (Arnet) Nottingham, Vinton; two children reared in her home: Junior (Marty) Brewer, Vinton and Julius Muncy, Columbus, Ohio; nineteen grandchildren: Andy, Becky, Arline, Suzette, Mary, Jason, Sharon, Kelly, Jerimiah, Michelle, Timmy, Jody, Tammy, Ronnie, Jodie, Adam, Chrystal, Erica, and Jeffrey; seventeen great-grandchildren: Melony, Jessica, Nathan, Kayla, Kendall, Bobbi, Mandy, Jesse, Levi, Dale, John, Brandon, Stephen, Faith, Mallorie, Marinda, Kelsy, and Charity; three great-great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Zachariah and Michael II; one brother, Willie (Ellen) Messer, Reynoldsburg, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, little Charlie and Ryan; two brothers, her twin Kelly, Jake Messer and ten other brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, June 1, 2008 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton with Pastor Mickey Maynard officiating. Burial will be in the Brush Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday 6:00-8:00 PM.
