Maurice "Scotty" Scott
July 28, 1911 — April 8, 2004
Maurice "Scotty" Scott, 92, Gallipolis, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2004, at Gallipolis Developmental Center. He was born July 28, 1911, in Porter, Ohio, son of the late Eugene and Bessie Smith Scott and he attended the Bidwell-Porter School.
Survivors include four nephews: Dr. James F. (Mamie) Scott. Athens, Ohio; Larry (Violet) Smith, Porter, Ohio; Harry (Clovadys) Scott Jr., Blackfork, Ohio and Christian (Stephanie) Scott, Gallipolis; seven nieces: Doris Green, Columbus; Donna Smith, Columbus; Dinah (Charles) Scott, Gallipolis; Jane Luttrell, Mansfield, Ohio; Florence (Robert) Williams, Gallipolis; Harriet (Bill) Qualls, Gallipolis; Betty (Ben) Bunch, Urbana, Ohio; sister-in-law, Barbara Scott, Gallipolis; and a host of great nieces, nephews, care givers and friends at the Gallipolis Developmental Center.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. James F. Scott Sr., Harry D. Scott Sr. and one sister, Sadie Smith.
Funeral services will be held Monday April 12, 2004 at 1:00 PM in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with Rev. Harry D. Scott Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Street Cemetery, Gallipolis. Friends may call Monday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
