Melburn "Sonny" Ray Adkins

Melburn Ray "Sonny" Adkins, 61, Vinton, Ohio passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born in Gallia County, Ohio February 24, 1958, the son of the late Raymond C. and Mildred E. Russell Adkins. Sonny married Donna Lively Adkins in 1978 and she survives. He was a member of the Vinton Fire Department, Vinton, Ohio since 1993.

In addition to his wife Donna, those left to cherish his memory are their children: Shannon (Rosie) Adkins and Raymond Adkins, both of Vinton, Ohio; grandchildren:  Rayanna Adkins, Waylon Adkins, Rayley Adkins, Madison Adkins and Skylynn Adkins; special daughter, Chelsie Husk; special grandkids:  Bella, Lainey and Pepper; brothers, Randy (Debbie) Adkins and Richard (Tonya) Adkins, both of Vinton, Ohio; sisters, Marcy Gregory, Vinton, Ohio and Ramey Dray, Gallipolis, Ohio and a host of extended family members.

Sonny was preceded by his step-father, Charles Adkins and an infant sister, Rhonda.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Vinton Baptist Church, Vinton, Ohio with Brother Clyde Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Center Cemetery, Vinton, Ohio. Family and friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, Tuesday from 5:00–7:00 PM.
