Melissa Toshiko (Sheets) Coon

Melissa Toshiko Sheets Coon, 27, Brazil, Indiana (formerly Rio Grande, Ohio) passed away Thursday, December 1, 2005 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Terra Haute, Indiana. She was born September 12, 1978 in Charleston, West Virginia, daughter of Winston (Tanya) Sheets, Rio Grande and Karen Sheets, Patriot, Ohio. A homemaker, she was a Graduate of River Valley High School and the Buckeye Hills Career Center, and a member of the VFW Post Ladies Auxiliary, Brazil, Indiana.
In addition to her mother, father and step-mother, Tanya Sheets Toshiko, she is survived by her husband SSgt. Larry Coon whom she married December 10, 2004 in Jacksonville, North Carolina and daughters, Tanya Michelle and Alyssa Gayle. Also surviving are her mother and father-in-law, Charles L. And Bonnie Kay Coon, Wilkesville, Ohio; sister, K. Nevorah Hoshi, Rio Grande, Ohio; brother, J.W. Sheets, Rio Grande, Ohio; maternal grandfather, Charles E. Meador, Huntington, West Virginia and niece, Karen Wilson, Toledo, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton with Rev. Marvin Sallee officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM.
