Michael L. Casey

Michael L. Casey, 64, of Bidwell, Ohio passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room, Gallipolis, Ohio. Mike was born January 26, 1960, in Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Charles and Velva (White) Casey. A United States Army Veteran, Mike retired from Kyger Creek Power Plant following more than thirty years as an electrician.

An All-Ohio High School football team selection, he loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds. As an active community member, Mike's memberships included Centerville F&M Lodge #371, Gallipolis Shrine Club and Alladin Shrine, Columbus, Ohio.

On March 3, 1987, he married his loving wife, Julie Smith Casey in Wauseon, Ohio, who survives with their children: Jessica Brooke Taylor, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Michael Jared (Erin Kemper) Casey, Vinton, Ohio; grandchildren: Alexa Berlin Taylor, Derek-Mykel Taylor, Rylan Taylor, Kylee Kemper, Kenadee Kemper and Michael Wyatt Casey.

Mike will be greatly missed by his sisters: Charlotte (Bob) Phillips and Rosalie (Terry) Hohenberger, both of Defiance, Ohio; Karen (Ed) Gilmore, Hicksville, Ohio; Connie (Eugene Wells) Montgomery, Gallipolis, Ohio and Cathy (Phil) Saunders, Bidwell, Ohio; brothers: Rick Casey and Mark (Debbie) Casey, both of Bidwell, Ohio as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marvin and Bertha Smith, Bidwell, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Susan Casto Casey, Sue Queen Casey and Debbie (Bill) Shaw and brother-in-law, Tim (Marsa) Smith as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded by brothers, Charles Larry Casey, Donald R. Casey, an infant brother and sister, LaDonna Jean Davis and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 27, 2024, in the Pinnacle Church, Main Street, Vinton, Ohio with Pastor Jamie Gruber officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park Cemetery. Family and Friends may call at the church Friday, July 26, 5:00-8:00 PM. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home is honored to serve the Casey Family.
