Michael Lee Hill

Michael Lee Hill, 51, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Monday, August 9, 2004 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born June 21, 1953 at Columbus, son of Evelyn Hill Montgomery and stepson of Paul "Buck" Montgomery, Gallipolis and was raised in the home of Dutch and Goldie Hill. He married Barbara Lawson October 22, 1982 at Columbus and she survives. He was self-employed and a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Michael was a member of Olive-Orange Memorial VFW Post #9053, Tuppers Plains and American Legion Post #27, Gallipolis.

Also surviving are son, Benjamen Anthony Hill, Columbus, Ohio and daughter, Maria Rosalyn (Greg) Young, Bidwell; two grandchildren, Aaron Michael Hill and Ashton James Hill; three brothers: Frank (Beth) Rutherford, Pataskala, Ohio; Paul Roger (Janet) Montgomery, Gallipolis, Ohio and Jeff (Connie) Montgomery, Gallipolis, Ohio; special cousin, Steve (Rita) Hill, Gallipolis, Ohio; mother-in-law, Rose Lawson, Bidwell; special sister-in-law and children: Carolyn, Cody and Shyanne Henderson; several brothers and sisters-in-laws, numerous extended family members and a host of friends.

Michael was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Lee and Nathan Michael Hill; grandparents, Dutch and Goldie Hill and father-in-law, Glen Lawson.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 12, 2004 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis with Pastor Jim Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery with Full Military Rites conducted by the Gallia County Veteran Services Organization. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 6:00-9:00 PM.
