Milfred Jarvis

Milfred Jarvis, 94, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Monday May 21, 2012 in the Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. He was born September 20, 1917 in Bidwell, Ohio, son of the late Calvin and Elberta Spencer Jarvis. Milfred married Martha Swyers Jarvis on January 20, 1948 at Ironton, Ohio and she preceded him in death on June 6, 2010. He retired from the Dravo Corporation of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvannia in 1988 where he was employed as an operating engineer. Milfred was a member of the Church of Christ, Little Hocking, Ohio.
He is survived by two sons, Ralph (Mary Anne) Jarvis, San Mateo, Florida and Larry (Judy) Jarvis, Gahanna, Ohio; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren a brother Jake (Margie) Jarvis, Gallipolis and a sister Mary (Clarence) Shupe, Denver, Colorado.
In addition to his wife and parents, Milfred was preceded in death by a brother Maxie and three sisters, Goldie, Permelia and Geneive.
Graveside services will be conducted 12:30 PM Friday May 25, 2012 in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens, Gallipolis with Pastor Steve Fuchs officiating. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis is honored to serve the Jarvis family.
