Myrtle Faye Kemper, 84, Kerr, died Friday, September 7, 2007 in her home with family and friends at her bedside. Myrtle was born on September 28, 1922 in Huntington, West Virginia, daughter of the late Harry and Murlie Johnson Drummond. Her husband, Dale, preceded her in death in September of 1995. Also preceding her in death was a granddaughter, Charity Faith Hatten, four brothers and one sister.
She is survived by one son and five daughters: Jack Kemper, Mt. Sterling, Ohio; Juanita (Larry) Brown, London, Ohio; Jean (Jim) Dotson, Mt. Sterling, Ohio; Audry (Buz) Hatten, Bidwell, Ohio; Connie Sheets, Lakeland, Florida and Kathy (Steve) White, Bidwell, Ohio; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters: Minnie Harrison, Amy Sexton, Opal Barcus and Nancy Warren, all of Gallipolis.
Myrtle retired from the Gallia County Children's Home after twenty years service. She was a member of the French City Baptist Church and the Gallia County Senior Citizens.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday in the French City Baptist Church, 3554 SR 160. Burial will follow in the Pine Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis on Monday, 5:00-8:00 PM.
