Nancy C. (Chowning) Phillips

Nancy C. Phillips, 82, Carroll, Ohio passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio. Born February 23, 1932 at Connersville, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Jacob Ezra and Margaret Louise (Rinehart) Chowning.
She is survived by her husband, Omer Kelly Phillips, whom she married November 26, 1948 at Rio Grande, Ohio; daughters: Jeanne Barron, Chillicothe, Ohio; Pat (Chip) Carothers, Carroll, Ohio and Sue (John) Midkiff, Jackson, Ohio; sons: Ron Phillips, Vinton, Ohio and Ken Phillips, Mt. Aire, North Carolina; grandchildren: Adam (Pam) Lanier, Jackie Kellie (John) Burgett, John Scott (Sally) Hill, George (Danielle) Sturgill, Ron Phillips, Jr., Shirley Phillips, Tina Salmons, Crystal Glenn, Ken Phillips, Jr. and Carol Jean (Shawn) Muff. In addition, Nancy has eighteen great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Lee (Connie) Chowning, Portland, Indiana and sisters: Mary Ruth (Jack) Moser, Martha (Richard) Haffner, Margaret (Herb) Hummel and Judy (Jess) Yaney, all of Portland, Indiana.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Janet Guthrie and brothers, Jerry Chowning and Jesse Chowning.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday April 3, 2014 in the Harvestime Worship Center, Main Street, Vinton, Ohio with Rev. Heath Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to her service.
