Naomi F. Glassburn, 88, Bidwell, Ohio went to be with the Lord in Holzer Medical Center Monday, April 9, 2012. She was a loving mother and a member of the Bidwell United Methodist Church where she had served as a Sunday School Treasurer for more than forty years.
She was born May 24, 1923 in Buffalo, West Virginia, daughter of the late Oscar O. and Minnie Jackson Higginbotham. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. W. "Bill" Glassburn in 1983 as well as her son-in-law, Leo Stumbo; brothers, Floyd, Alfred, Charles, Harold and Arnold Higginbotham and sisters, Clara Reedy and Georgia Whittington.
Naomi is survived by her children, Arnold (Jacalyn) Glassburn and Bonita "Bonnie" Stumbo, both of Bidwell; five grandchildren: Legea (Steve) McAvena, Dana "D.L." (Shannon) Glassburn; Tara and Levi Stumbo, all of Bidwell and Risa Stumbo, Huntington, West Virginia; and five great-grandchildren: Letea and Cody McAvena, Olicia Glassburn, Mariah Hill and Nate Combs; and sister, Mildred Jeffers, Dexter, Ohio along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Friday, April 13, 2012 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, 6:00-8:00 PM.
