Nora Lee Thomas, 95, Newark, Ohio, (formerly Salem Center, Ohio) passed away Saturday morning in the Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. Nora was born July 10, 1912 in Middleport, Ohio, daughter of the late Beecher and Laura Arthur Kessinger. She and her husband, Lester Thomas, owned and operated the Salem Center General Store from 1960 to 1980. She was a member of the Salem Center United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Betty Thomas, Newark, Ohio; two grandsons, Larry E. (Becky) Thomas, Newark, Ohio and Steven R. (Donna) Thomas, Groveport, Ohio; six grandchildren, Larry Ray, Tara, and Corey Thomas, Newark, Ohio; Joshua Thomas, Delaware, Ohio; Candace Thomas, Santee, California and Dustin Thomas, Groveport, Ohio; great-granddaughter, Arie Santee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Thomas, February 12, 1989; a daughter, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Rev. Bill Beard officiating. Burial will be in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM.
