Olive Mae (Mccormick) Kemper

March 10, 1926 — July 28, 2012

Olive Mae Kemper, 86, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Holzer Senior Care, Bidwell. She was a loving mother and homemaker who was born March 10, 1926 in Ward, West Virginia daughter of the late Granville McCormick and Gracie Mae Hatfield McCormick. Olive was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Porter and attended the old Countryside Baptist Church in Evergreen.

She married Wallace E. Kemper July 11, 1946 at Gallia County, Ohio and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1992. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Tommy Kemper; brothers, Robert, Harry Ray, Douglas and Charles McCormick and sister, Margaret McCormick.
In addition, she was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, David Secoy, Walter Blazer, Garland "Kemp" Kemper and William Burnett; sisters-in-law, Ruth and Judy McCormick and Mary K. Lane.

Surviving are one son and two daughters: James (Marjorie) Kemper, Bidwell, Ohio; Carol (Phillip) Powell, Bidwell, Ohio and Gloria Staker, Springfield, Ohio; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and one sister: Eugene (Karon) McCormick, Pataskala, Ohio; Harold (Peggy) McCormick, Wyoming and Mildred Blazer, Florida; three brothers-in-law, William L. (Barbara) Kemper, Jr., Bidwell; Charles (Donna) Kemper, South Carolina and Quentin Lane, Gallipolis; and two sisters-in-law, Janet (Pat) Miller and Frances Secoy, both of Bidwell.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Pat Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Bidwell. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
