Olivelle (Beers) Uber
June 6, 1921 — March 18, 2010
Olivelle Uber, 88, Gallipolis, Ohio, (Cheshire Community), passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday, March 8, 2010 at Holzer Medical Center, Jackson. She was born June 6, 1921 in Harrisburg, Oregon, daughter of the late Frank and Kate Smith Beers. She was a graduate of Biola School of Missionary Medicine, and worked as a Missionary with the American Sunday School Union and also as a LPN. She was a lifetime Deaconess at the Cheshire Baptist Church and a helpmate to her husband Rev. William Uber who served as Pastor there for thirteen years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters: Frances (Allen) McCoy, Dayton, Ohio; Shirley (James) Walker, Wellston, Ohio; and Katy Uber, Gallipolis, Ohio. Also surviving are five grandsons: James Walker, Belpre, Ohio; Chad Walker, Jackson, Ohio; Brian Walker, Cincinnati, Ohio; and
John Thacker and Steve Thacker, Dayton, Ohio; also nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, March 22, 2012 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, with Rev. Steve Little officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday 2:00-4:00 PM.
