Opal (Marcum) Metheney
April 14, 1929 — April 20, 2007
Opal Metheney, 78, Vinton (Wilkesville community) Ohio, passed away in Holzer Senior Care, Bidwell, Ohio Friday, April 20, 2007. She was born April 14, 1929 in Williamson, West Virginia, daughter of the late Sammy Marcum and Julia Runyon Marcum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Metheney, two brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are sons: Dick (Bev) Metheney, Piketon and Tom (Patty) Metheney, Wilksville; daughters: Darlene (Bob) Steele, Sunbury and Janet (Mike) Kuhn, Columbus; grandchildren: Brandy Metheney, Vinton; Emily and Katie Kuhn, Columbus and Nathan and Tanner Metheney, Wilkesville; devoted sisters: Lucy Maynard, Ernestine Clay, Shirley (Howard) Parsley, and Evalou (Don) Lawson.
Mrs. Metheney was a fifty year member of the Old Regular Baptist Church including the Little Flock Church.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Sunday in the Little Pearl ORB Church, Mt. Tabor Rd. near Vinton with Brothers Jerry Runyon, Sam Franks and Russell Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcum Cemetery. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home in Vinton Saturday, April 21, 2007.
