Rev. Orlyn "Butch" Robert Cochran, Jr., 57, Peebles, Ohio (hometown of Vinton, Ohio) passed away July 27, 2013. He was born March 14, 1956 to the late Orlyn Robert and Eula Beatrice (Grider) Cochran. He retired from the US Army in 1995. He pastored several churches in Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvannia and Illinois. He became an ordained minister June 27, 2009 with the Midwest Pilgrim Holiness Conference. He was the sole proprietor of Orlyn's Roofing and Home Improvement.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Betty Kathryn Cochran, Peebles, Ohio; daughter, Betty Jo Cochran, Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons, Butch (Lauren) Cochran, Spotsylvania, Virginia and Robert (Erica) Cochran, Gilbert, Arizona; grandson, Ian Michael Cochran, Spotsylvania, Virginia and two step-grandsons, Damian and Nigel Mayer, Gilbert, Arizona. He is also survived by sisters, Mildred (Ted) Russell, Vinton, Ohio; Tammie (Terry) Russell, Vinton, Ohio; Phyllis Ratcliff, Vinton, Ohio; Darlene Ratcliff, Lexington, Kentucky and Thelma (Victor) Harrison, Oklahoma; two brothers, William Eugene Cochran, Columbus, Ohio and Merrill (Lynn) Cochran, Columbus, Ohio and several nieces, nephews, and best friend, Malta Leslie, Piketon, Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, August 1, 2013 in the Morgan Center Christian Holiness Church, 1920 Rowesville Road, Vinton, Ohio with Rev. Ted Russell and Rev. Tharon Durham, officiates. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Vinton with Military Graveside Rites and Flag Presentation by the US Army Honors Detail. Friends and family may call at the church Thursday 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
