Owen Marcum, 78, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Thursday April 28, 2005 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. Born February 16, 1927 at Jenny's Creek, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Charlie and Emma Horn Marcum. Owen was employed as a hot-steel hooker at Ford Motor Company where he retired after 32 years 7 months of service. He was also a member of Poplar Ridge Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Nutter Marcum, Bidwell; five daughters and two sons: Freda (Carl) Swaw, Southside, Tennessee; Homer Maynard, Detroit, Michigan; Muriel (Andrew) Williamson, Southgate, Michigan; Madelene (Wade Jr.) Marcum, Dingess, West Virginia; Rhoda (John) Bilancetti, Wyandott, Michigan; Darrell Marcum, Bidwell and Erin (Jimmy) Bishop, Lincoln Park, Michigan; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Bryant, Chapmanville, West Virginia; three brothers: Walter Marcum, Kermit, West Virginia; John B. (Carol) Marcum, Dingess, West Virginia and Haskell (Mary) Marcum, Dingess, West Virginia.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Barbara Swaw; great-grandson, Dywane Wall; brothers: Lafayette, Harrison, Patrick, and Flem Marcum and sisters, Mary and Beatrice Marcum.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, May 2 at Trace Church of God, Dingess, West Virginia. Burial will follow in Dillon Cemetery, Dingess. Friends may call Saturday from 5:00-9:00 PM at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Gallipolis Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis and Sunday afternoon at the Trace Church of God, Dingess.
